Revelation Films is bringing Legendary Children (All Of Them Queer) to global audiences this June, just in time for London’s iconic annual Pride celebration. Following its captivating West End premiere at the Curzon Bloomsbury cinema as the official closing night film of LGBT+ History Month 2025, the film has already made a striking impression. It is now set for an international streaming release by Revelation Films through Spirit Entertainment, the UK’s major streaming content distributor. So, clear your watchlist — this is not just a film; it is a vibrant celebration and powerful exploration of love, identity, and equality.
Filmed over two years, Legendary Children (All Of Them Queer) showcases the lasting impact of London’s historic Pride march on 1 July, 1972. In many ways the first really recognisable Pride march in Europe, this landmark event helped shape the global LGBTQIA+ Pride movement as we experience it today.
Titled after Holly Johnson’s renowned song, the film follows many of the original Gay Liberation Front pioneers who marched in 1972, revisiting them 50 years later alongside a new generation of queer voices and change-makers. The Legendary Children of 1972 fought to ensure that the LGBTQIA+ community’s presence in society would not be disregarded. The documentary journeys through present day expressions of queer activism and solidarity including Manchester’s Candlelight Vigil, Spain’s huge Winter Pride festival and direct-response actions such as Queer Night Pride reacting to brutal homophobic violence in London.
This groundbreaking film is a joyful, first-hand account of 50 years of activism that reflects the powerful and diverse community we proudly champion today. Legendary Children (All Of Them Queer) captures these monumental moments in time, displaying the colourful, inspirational, and deeply moving spirit of Pride. Featuring a diverse range of appearances, the film includes special guests such as Neil Bartlett OBE, rock icon Tom Robinson, and It’s A Sin actor Nathaniel J Hall, who all offer unique perspectives on Pride’s vital role today in addressing ongoing human rights challenges.
Director Rob Falconer notes: “Legendary Children (All Of Them Queer) demonstrates exactly how the collective power of ordinary people, in number and shared objectives, can bring about global change. But for me, these legendary individuals will never be ‘ordinary’ – collectively they helped create the Pride legacy still changing LGBTQIA+ lives worldwide 50 years on.”
Jimmy Somerville has just released a very special music video for the iconic Read My Lips (Enough is Enough) remix, cut with Jimmy and footage from the film and also supporting the world’s 22 LGBT+ History Months. Watch it below.
Legendary Children (All Of Them Queer) will be available to stream from 28 June on Apple TV, Amazon Prime and Google Play Movies.
