Aussie superstar G Flip is entering a new era of music with the release of their new track Disco Cowgirl.
Known for their banging queer anthems and that infamous sapphic cover of Taylor Swift’s Cruel Summer, G Flip has brought us a new track to blast this summer. Centred around the emotional impact of fleeting love, Disco Cowgirl is engulfed in retro-pop nostalgia.
Speaking about the new track, G Flip said: “Disco Cowgirl is the first taste of a new era. It’s the first stop on a larger ride that I can’t wait to share with the world.”
This new release follows the release of their LP DRUMMER which came out in 2023. Speaking to DIVA following its release, G Flip revealed why visibility is so important. “Growing up I never had a queer artist. I never had a non-binary artist. I never saw anyone who looked like me drumming and lead singing,” they told DIVA. “I never saw anyone who dressed like me making pop music. I never heard any music that used she/her pronouns that were overtly queer love songs. For anyone listening to my music, I hope it inspires any creatives out there that you can write about whatever you want.”
Outside their hit tracks, G Flip has also been serving up queer representation through their swoon-worthy marriage with Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause. The pair regularly break the internet with their adorable pictures and seriously impressive Halloween costumes. Potentially a cowboy hat is on the cards for this year…
