The singer created the original score for Clueless, The Musical

Award-winning singer KT Tunstall has released new music, unlike anything she’s released before. Called KT Tunstall’s Clueless Mixtape, the album features six new tracks from Clueless, The Musical, sung by KT herself and members of the cast.
The musical is a stage adaptation of Amy Heckerling’s film of the same name, itself an adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma. Performances began on 15 February at London’s Trafalgar Theatre. They feature music written by KT and Grammy Award winner Glenn Slater.
To celebrate the launch of the musical, KT has released a short album of six songs from the musical. “Collaborating on Clueless has been an incredible journey,” the singer said. “Creating an original score that captures the spirit of this iconic story has been a thrilling challenge. I’m excited to share KT Tunstall’s Clueless Mixtape with everyone, and I hope it brings as much joy to listeners as I had in making it.”
Amy Heckerling, the film’s director, has been a fan of KT for years, and has said she “couldn’t be more excited about the release of the EP” the singer recorded. The director called it “the ultimate 90s mixtape”.
Clueless, The Musical closely follows the events of the film – Cher Horowitz has a talent for matchmaking and is determined to set her awkward friend Tai up with the coolest boy at school. What happens when, for the first time in her life, things don’t go Cher’s way?
KT Tunstall’s Clueless Mixtape can be streamed now. Clueless, The Musical will be at The Trafalgar Theatre until 27 September. Tickets can be bought here.
