A new rom-com starring many of our LGBTQIA faves is headed our way! Bella Ramsey is set to lead in Sunny Dancer, a tear jerking romantic comedy following teenagers at a summer camp for those affected by cancer. She will be joined by Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning and Neil Patrick Harris, as well as many other famous faces.
The film follows Ivy, who is in remission from cancer when she attends “Camp Chemo”. Though Ivy finds the camp cringy, she ultimately finds true love and true friendship. Bella, who found fame in Game Of Thrones and The Last Of Us, will play the main character.
The non-binary actor will be joined by Jessica Gunning, hot off a widely acclaimed performance as stalker Martha in Netflix’s Baby Reindeer. There hasn’t yet been an announcement on who Jessica will play in the film, but she is joining a star-studded cast, as Neil Patrick Harris, Joy’s James Norton, former Bridgerton actor Ruby Stokes and Enola Holmes’ Louis Partridge have also signed on.
Sunny Dancer is set to go into production in April, so it will be a while before the film, sure to pull at the heartstrings, will reach cinemas. Also in April, fans can watch Bella in season two of The Last Of Us. In the hit apocalyptic show, they play Ellie, one of the protagonists, who is expected to have a sapphic romance with Isabela Merced’s Dina this season.
