The Traitors star Leanne Quigley has shared the exciting news that her fiancée is finally cancer-free. Taking to Instagram, the reality TV show contestant gave fans the update.
She wrote: “This is the only news we needed and wanted. On the 31st July 2024 my partner and mother of my children was diagnosed with grade-three breast cancer.”
“Watching the person you love fight through chemotherapy is up there with the worst things on Earth. Yesterday, Wednesday 8th January, the strongest woman on [the] planet was told she is cancer-free. She did it.”
Accompanying the heartfelt caption was a smiling selfie of the pair and a picture of them holding hands.
“I cannot put into words how proud, and how in awe, I am of her strength every single day,” Leanne continued. “For anybody fighting, or for anybody watching their loved ones fight this horrible disease, I see you and I feel you. Please don’t give up.”
The series three “Faithful” also thanked the NHS team who had supported her family during the difficult time.
She finished off the post saying: “We quickly learnt to never take anything for granted ever again, and sadly had to learn that tomorrow is never promised, and fear of the unknown killed us inside.”
Previous Traitors alumni like LGBTQIA icon Fay Greaves offered their support and celebration in the comment section.
LGBTQIA audiences were quick to rally around Leanne when the recent series began after it was revealed that she would use the prize money to help fund IVF treatment with her fiancée. It was in fact Leanne’s partner who encouraged her to go on the show.
You can watch The Traitors now on BBC iPlayer or on BBC One.
