Hot mascs wanted! And for once, it’s not just for us. Lucy Dacus, a third of the queer group Boygenius, has made a very public casting call for her latest music video… and it’s all about mascs.

Posting to TikTok last week, the Night Shift singer wrote: “I am seeking some people to be in the music video for this song. If you are smooth or suave or can pretend to be. Maybe you’re a hot masc. Maybe you are simply willing and able and not afraid to be on camera.”

She went on to explain that she was looking for hot mascs to star in a music video for her latest track entitled Best Guess. The song, which accompanied the casting call, is naturally sapphic. Singing about clasping necklaces and kissing necks is certainly one way to rally the hot mascs of the internet together.

As expected, the casting call went viral. Hot mascs of all demographics have come together on TikTok to showcase their most suave poses in the hopes of being selected for the music video. LGBTQIA icons have also responded to the casting call, with singer Girl In Red saying she would volunteer for the video.

Lucy Dacus released her last album in 2021 before regrouping with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker to release the widely popular album The Record as part of the group Boygenius. The album went on to win three Grammys and garnered widespread acclaim as well as attracting a cult following from within the LGBTQIA community.

Whether you’re a hot masc or just someone who appreciates them, I think it’s safe to say that the entire sapphic community is excited to see the video when it finally comes out. Now, if you’d excuse us, we have some more scrolling to do…

The exact date for the song’s release is currently unknown.
