Need a new song to add to your playlist – rising alt-pop star Nxdia has you covered with their new single, Feel Anything. The biographical song is in two distinct parts, with the first discussing the lows of depression and the second focusing on the chaos of a manic episode.

The Sudanese-Egyptian artist said the song was about “feeling everything and nothing and the emotional whiplash from jumping in between”. Teasers have been listened to over eight million times.

In one song, there are two unique styles. It starts off slow and melancholic. “In the beginning I talk about feeling isolated, trying to have conversations with friends to understand why I was feeling the way I did, why I felt the need to disappear and make myself as small as I felt at the time.”

The second half of the song is more akin to a dance song. The change is sudden, which Nxdia said reflects how their moods feel like they flip with a switch. They added that the style is supposed to emulate the clubs they often found themself in. “I tried to make it reflect how sometimes I’d feel “good” but that really meant I had enough energy to force myself to attend club or party environments just for the sake of wanting to feel sad and numb.”

The release of Feel Anything comes near the end of a big year for Nxdia. 2024 has seen great success for their previous singles She Likes A Boy and Jennifer’s Body, both about the sapphic experience. They have also been nominated for Breakthrough TikTok Artist of the Year.
