Winter is here. As we bundle up in coats and scarves, it’s the perfect time to sack off going outside and instead snuggle in with a good film or TV show. This month is jam-packed full of exciting new releases featuring queer storylines, actors, or real-life stories. From drug cartel musicals to moving documentaries, this month is set to be an exciting one for LGBTQIA stars on screen.
It’s All Over: The Kiss That Changed Spanish Football

In this groundbreaking documentary, Spanish footballer Jenni Hermoso speaks openly about the kiss she received without her consent from the Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales after her team won the World Cup in 2023. The documentary not only investigates this moment but also reflects on the powerful and inspirational movement which followed and the campaign for justice and equality.

The World According To Allee Willis is a new film which follows the life of songwriter and artist Allee Willis who spent her life pursuing the creative arts, trying her best to fit established gender norms. She is best known for being the creative genius behind the Friends theme song and hits like Earth Wind & Fire’s September.

Starring Bill Nighy, Thomasin McKenzie and James Norton, this remarkable new film follows the true story of the world’s first IVF baby Louise Brown. This biographical film tracks the process which eventually led to IVF, a development which has helped queer couples around the world to conceive.

Wicked: Part One
22 November
And finally, one of the most anticipated films of 2024, Wicked. This beautiful adaptation of the beloved play stars a whole of LGBTQIA actors including Cynthia Erivo, Marissa Bode, Jonathan Bailey and more. Known for connecting with LGBTQIA audiences, this film is set to be a beautiful tale about chosen family, otherness, and connection.
