Emma Corrin and Maika Monroe are set to star in 100 Nights Of Hero, a sapphic fantasy film directed by Julia Jackman.

The film is adapted from a graphic novel by Isabel Greenberg and loosely based on The Arabian Nights. Set in the fantasy version of the medieval period, it follows Cherry (Monroe) and her maid Hero (Corrin).

The two fall in love with each other but Hero must tell stories to save them after Cherry’s husband Jerome, yet to be cast, bets his friend Manfred (Nicholas Galitzine) that he can’t seduce his wife within one hundred nights. Should Manfred win, Cherry will be sacrificed to him.

With Corrin on board, the film is set to have a strong representation for the queer community both in front of and behind the camera. The actor, who has also played Princess Diana in The Crown, came out as queer in 2021. A year later, they revealed they were non-binary by adding they/them pronouns to their Instagram account.

Behind the camera, the film’s director is queer filmmaker Julia Jackman. 100 Nights Of Hero is likely to be her biggest film yet, especially as the rest of the cast is so star-studded. In addition to Corrin and Monroe, Nicholas Galitzine, of Red, White And Royal Blue fame, is set to play Manfred. Charli XCX has also joined the cast, though her role is as yetunknown.
