As Pride season kicked off on Saturday (1 June), LGBTQIA people around the world started making posts celebrating their queerness. Among them was Bridgerton’s Jessica Madsen. The actor is known for portraying Cressida Cowper on the show. She shared a carousel post filled with unapologetically queer images and a caption reading: “In love with a woman, loud about it and proud about it!”
The comment section was filled with supportive and celebratory messages from her followers. Her Bridgerton co-stars Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Featherington), Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Hannah Dodd (Francesca Bridgerton) and Johnathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton) were among those sending love to the actor in the comments.
Even before the first part of Bridgerton season three premiered on Netflix, fans were speculating on possible upcoming LGBTQIA storylines following an interview with showrunner Jess Bronwell. Jess promised that the Ton would be getting a queer storyline. Many fans have been shipping Cressida with her new BFF Eloise. Whether the hopes are true or not, we can’t wait to see more of Cressida in the second half of the third chapter which will be available to stream from 13 June.
