Lesbian icon Rosie O’Donnell announced on Instagram that she will be joining the cast of the beloved show And Just Like That. Posting a picture of a script entitled “Outlook Good”, Rosie captioned the post “here comes Mary #andjustlikethat”.

The Sex And The City sequel follows the iconic cast throughout their later lives, delving into the characters in a way that we have never seen before. The sequel has previously garnered a huge queer following due to the queer storyline that has centred around Cynthia Nixon’s character Miranda.

While series three was greenlit back in August, the show will be missing two of its central characters after it was announced that Sara Ramirez’s Che Diaz and Karen Pittman’s Dr Nya Wallace would not be returning.

Although we don’t know anything more about Rosie’s character in the show, we can probably hazard a guess that it might have something to do with Miranda…

Fans have quickly started to theorise about Rosie’s appearance on the show, with one Twitter user writing: “Miranda’s got a new girlfriend.”

Rosie O’Donnell first came to fame after she starred in the legendary 1992 film A League Of Their Own. She came out in 2002 and has since appeared on shows like The View, The L Word: Generation Q, and the TV adaptation of A League Of Their Own.
