Lesbian Visibility Week took centre stage at the London Stock Exchange yesterday (23 April). The LSEG Market Close event, a highlight of Lesbian Visibility Week, commenced with a captivating performance by West End star Elesha Paul Moses. As the closing bell rang, signalling the end of trading, it also marked the beginning of a profound dialogue on the challenges and triumphs of LGBTQIA women and non-binary individuals in the workplace.

Following Elesha’s performance, a distinguished panel of LGBTQIA leaders took the spotlight, engaging in a thought-provoking discussion on generational shifts in workplace dynamics and the persistent barriers faced by those aspiring to authentic leadership roles. The event provided a platform for voices often marginalised in corporate settings to be heard, amplifying the importance of diversity and inclusion in all spheres of professional life.

DIVA also celebrated the launch of their annual DIVA Power List which uplifts and amplifies the voices of LGBTQIA trailblazers across every industry. You can read the full list here.

What makes the LSEG Market Close event particularly significant is its symbolic gesture of inclusion within the financial sector. By hosting Lesbian Visibility Week activities within such a prestigious venue, LVW’s headline sponsor sent a powerful message about the integral role LGBTQIA communities play in shaping global business landscapes.

Through partnerships with international charity organisations like ILGA World, EL*C, GLAAD, Curve, and the LGBT Foundation in the UK, Lesbian Visibility Week continues to broaden its impact, reaching audiences far beyond its initial scope.

DIVA magazine celebrates 30 years in print in 2024. If you like what we do, then get behind LGBTQIA media and keep us going for another generation. Your support is invaluable.
