BY GEORGIA SWEET, IMAGE BY DREAMSTIME

Jasmin Savoy Brown has climbed to fame over the last couple years, with her biggest debut yet in the 2023 horror Scream VI. Fans may also know her from Yellowjackets or The Leftovers. Her fun-loving attitude has garnered her a huge fan base, especially within the LGBTQIA community.

We can only see her popularity amongst the community growing, so here are a few facts you may not know about Jasmin!

She started performing at the age of four

She performed in a church musical at the age of four. She says her mum was supportive of her love of acting. She continued to act and eventually landed her first TV role in 2013 in The Fosters and Grimm.

She loves Broadway shows

Her dream is to be in a Broadway musical!

She loves LGBTQIA storytelling

She created and hosted the podcast The Homo Schedule with fellow Yellowjackets star Liv Hewson. Each episode would invite creative queer folks to share their stories about being LGBTQIA.

She actually cut her hair in Yellowjackets

Instead of using a wig for the infamous haircut scene, Jasmin decided to take the plunge and cut her own hair on camera. She told The Hollywood Reporter that it had actually been her idea to have Taissa cut her hair, and felt it was important to connect with her character.

She loves astrology

She is an Aries sun, Cancer moon and Scorpio rising. We can definitely see her Aries sun dominating in her career – she’s bringing that fire!

She sofa surfed when she first moved to LA

To pursue her career choice, she did auditions alongside working as a waitress in order to afford rent. In 2015, she finally got her role in The Leftovers. She definitely took a few risks, but it seems it worked out for the best!
