Scheduled to launch at The British Swim Championships on 6 April at the London Aquatics Centre, Pride Swim 2024 is set to an exciting celebration of LGBTQIA inclusivity in aquatic sports.
Organised by Out & Wild Event, IMPROPER agency, and community group Out To Swim, Pride Swim 2024 is more than just a series of swimming events: it’s a celebration of diversity and unity. With the overarching goal of fostering connections within the LGBTQIA community and its allies, this initiative seeks to promote physical and mental well-being while raising funds for the Switchboard LGBTQIA support line, commemorating its 50th year.

Supported by Swim England and London Marathon Events, Pride Swim 2024 boasts an impressive lineup of over 20 events scheduled across the UK from June onwards. Partnering with Everyone Active and Love Open Water, the initiative ensures accessibility by hosting family-friendly events at leisure centres and open water sites nationwide.
From London to Brighton, Bristol to Sunderland, Pride Swim 2024 aims to create ripples of inclusion in every corner of the country. Participants can choose their preferred distance and receive a medal, certificate, and even free swim caps, emphasising the spirit of participation over competition.
Moreover, the initiative extends beyond organised events, offering individuals the opportunity to swim in their local communities throughout June, July, and August, coinciding with Pride Season. By registering for a Pride Swim pack, participants can join the movement from the comfort of their own surroundings.

Founder Polly Shute says: “We are really excited to roll out Pride Swims across the UK this summer. These events are a great way to bring communities together, with a real focus on wellbeing. We have worked hard with our partners to ensure the swims are open to all, including families as well as adults and that they embrace the whole LGBTQIA community and allies.”
As Pride Swim 2024 prepares to make a splash this summer, it invites individuals of all backgrounds and abilities to join in the celebration of unity and diversity. For those eager to dive into the action, further details are available on the official website www.prideswim.org.
