Cinephiles and celebs flocked to the BFI on Friday 22 March to watch some exclusive footage from the new documentary Life Of Riley. With a Q&A hosted by Liz Ward, DIVA Publisher and founder of Lesbian Visibility Week Linda Riley spoke about the process of filming this new documentary with filmmaker Jacquie Lawrence.

This candid and intimate film captures the life and work of Linda Riley, and the audience was able to watch snippets of footage at this exclusive event. From archival home videos to interviews with some of our favourite celebs, this new documentary will explore all parts of Linda’s life from childhood to the present.

Often dubbed “Head Lesbian Of The World”, Linda spoke candidly at the BFI about being authentic, growing up in Stockwell, and being vulnerable on camera. Filmmaker Jacquie Lawrence, known for Gateways Grind (2022) and Different For Girls (2017), also revealed how much the documentary changed over the course of filming.

With applause all around, Life Of Riley is set to be a remarkable documentary. You can watch it at DIVA’s very first film festival in April. Book here: Life Of Riley.
