For fans of The Princess Diaries or The L Word, this one’s for you. Heather Matarazzo shot to stardom in 1997 when she won an Independent Spirit Award for her performance as Dawn Wiener in Welcome To The Dollhouse. She then went on to play alongside Anne Hathaway in the 2001 hit film The Princess Diaries, playing Lilly Moscovitz. In The L Word, Heather played the role of Stacy Merkin.
Writer, filmmaker, and stand-up comedian Heather Turman is also a force to be reckoned with. Sheās worked on everything from La La Land to Dispatch (2016).
So how did this Hollywood power couple meet?
2016: They meet while working on the set of Stuck togetherĀ
Written by Heather Turman, Heather Matarazzo starred in the 2017 comedy Stuck. Sentenced to 30 days of house arrest, Darby (Matarazzo) must spend a month living with her ex-boyfriend and his new fiancee. Sounds like a recipe for disaster!
While the love story in the film isnāt too desirable, the romance budding outside of it was certainly romcom-ready. We donāt know too much about how the pair began dating, but we do know that it led to a lifetime of happiness.
November 2018: The pair get en-gay-ed
In an adorable Instagram post, the pair revealed that they were in fact en-gay-ed in 2018. Quoting from Paulo Coelhoās novel The Alchemist, Matarazzo wrote: āThere is only that moment and the incredible certainty that everything under the sun has been written by one hand only. It is the hand that evokes love, and creates a twin soul for every person in the world. Without such love, one’s dreams would have no meaning.ā
She continued by writing: āWe kept this to ourselves for a few days, but on 1-11, I asked…..and she said yes. To death and back, I love you, Turman.ā
Queer hearts everywhere exploded with happiness at this news!

November 2018: The couple tie the knotĀ
Not long after they announced their engagement, Matarazzo and Turman tied the knot on 11 November. In an intimate outdoor ceremony, the pair smiled as they said their vows and cut their cake.

A week after their ceremony, Matarazzo posted a beautiful snap from their special day with the caption: āGetting to celebrate Thanksgiving for the first time as a married woman, for which I am filled to the brim with thanks. Less than 10 years ago, our marriage would not have been recognized as legal. So, I am also humbled by the countless souls who paved the way for us.ā

She also went on to acknowledge the work of the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center, just one of the social and political causes which both have advocated for during their careers.Ā
2019: Matarazzo celebrates their anniversary
With a smiling selfie, Matarazzo expressed her joy and love one year after their wedding day. āWho knew the first year of marriage could go so fast?!ā she wrote in the caption. āOne year later and Iām still head over heels in love and also willing to go deeper. @heatherturman it feels like yesterday and a long time all in one breath. Iām so grateful to experience this life with you. I see you. I love you. Iām gonna put my phone down now so we can get back to talking. Happy One Year Anniversary. Yea, marriage!ā

2022: Turman celebrates Matarazzo‘s birthday
We absolutely adore seeing this couple still so loved up! Turman posted a sweet snap of the pair in 2022 to commemorate Matarazzoās 40th birthday. āMy favourite human being on planet Earth turned the big 4-0 today!ā Turman wrote. āAnd I got to spend the day with her. Lucky lucky me š„° Happy Birthday @heathermatarazzo!! Youāre continually evolving into an even better version of your already perfect self, day after day, year after year, and it is an honour and a pleasure to bear witness to your journey. I wish you all the love, joy and magic imaginable this next trip around the sun. I love you!!ā
We canāt wait to keep seeing this couple smile together!
