DIVA Publisher and founder of Lesbian Visibility Week Linda Riley has been made a Trans In The City Champion.
Trans In The City is the world’s largest organisation for trans and non-binary people in business, founded in 2017 by CEO Bobbi Pickard. Trans In The City has three main goals: to educate, to demonstrate, and to celebrate trans people in industries and businesses.
Linda Riley was previously awarded the Trans In The City Trans Ally award in 2021 for her work in supporting the trans community. In her speech, she said: “I’ve grown up in the 1980s and 1970s being a lesbian and I’ve gone through times where I’ve come out of the bathroom and women have gone off to get their boyfriends to protect them. There’s no way I’m going to stand back and hear the same stuff said about me 30 years ago said about trans women now.”
Alongside Linda, singer and actress Mzz Kimberley has also been made a Trans In The City Champion.
DIVA magazine celebrates 29 years in print in 2023. If you like what we do, then get behind LGBTQIA media and keep us going for another generation. Your support is invaluable.
