This is a dynamic flowy class with an emphasis on connecting body movement with the breath. Perfect way to wake up the mind and body in the morning ready for the day ahead. Tamsin’s teaching style aims to be inclusive to all people whilst adopting a trauma-informed\, body acceptance approach. She believes in the healing power of connecting to nature through yoga and how this should be accessible to all of us! The class will include asana (yoga postures)\, pranayama (breathing practices) and meditation in order to adopt a true and full yoga experience. This class is suitable for all levels! \nWhy queer and trans specific yoga? \nTamsin says \n“I believe that yoga should be accessible to everybody and as a queer person of colour I understand the feeling of being othered in yoga/wellness/spiritual spaces. So\, I decided to become a yoga teacher with the aim of making yoga more accessible to communities that would not normally enter a yoga studio due to the cis/hetronormative nature of the western wellness world. Yoga has provided me with a great amount of healing and I hope to share this with others that may also benefit from the practice. Our community deserves to have a safe\, supportive and non-judgemental environment where we can allow ourselves to be vulnerable and explore this life changing practice! I would also love to see more sober queer events and spaces focused around improving our wellbeing!”

DESCRIPTION:The Lesbian Discussion Group at the Gay’s The Word Book Shop (WC1 N 1AB) has been going for over 30 years and is one of the most established community experiences in London. \nIt is open to all women who wish to either discuss\, listen to\, or bond over topics that deal with anything from Love\, Life and Dating to Politics\, Philosophies and Coming Out. \nThe group takes place every Wednesday from 8pm – 9pm inside the book shop itself. There is a steady stream of newcomers and everybody is more than welcome to also come along to our informal socials that tend to happen right after the discussion has taken place (we usually go to a bar or pub in the area). \nPlease arrive on time as we lock the door during the discussion group in order to avoid disruptions. Should you arrive after 8pm\, we would recommend that you go to one of the eateries or bars in the area and then meet us after 9pm once the shop’s door has been opened. SUMMARY:The Sparkle Weekend
DESCRIPTION:The Sparkle Weekend is the world’s largest free-to-attend celebration of gender diversity\, and a safe space for anyone who identifies as gender non-conforming\, their families\, friends\, and allies. In 2019\, we welcomed more than 22\,000 visitors over the weekend. \nThe Sparkle Weekend is a festival-style family event\, featuring live music and entertainment\, talks and workshops\, and an opportunity for our corporate sponsors\, grassroots charities\, and trans-run businesses to engage with our visitors. \nWe also work with local and national charities who support young trans and gender questioning people and their families so that all age groups feel included. \nOne of the charity’s core values is that the event remains free-to-attend in order to be accessible to everyone\, regardless of gender identity\, race\, religion\, or physical ability. \nThe Sparkle Weekend currently costs tens-of-thousands of pounds to deliver and is currently funded by companies who share the charity’s values of equality and inclusion for all gender non-conforming individuals\, and visitor donations. Sponsorship and donations mean that the Charity can also include smaller grassroots groups who support sub-sectional minorities in the event.
