SUMMARY:Still Me - BFI Flare 2024
DESCRIPTION:After the success of 2019’s Transparent Love exhibition at BFI Flare\, leading photographer Amanda Searle has created Still Me\, an original series of beautiful portraits of ordinary people who have lived and are living extraordinary lives. These images approach the subjects with honesty and dignity\, exploring themes of gender and identity through a profoundly human lens. \nAmanda says: “I feel we cannot know or understand fully what it is like to live a transgender life\, unless we are living one\, but we can know and understand people who do. I hope these portraits give a sense of meeting these amazing people. I thank them for sharing time with me\, it has been an honour to get to know them.” \nAll About Trans creates space for dialogue and understanding about trans people building connections and inspiring authentic media content that reflects real-life experiences. The programme is run by award-winning small charity Heard ( Heard.org.uk).

SUMMARY:The Lesbian Discussion Group
DESCRIPTION:The Lesbian Discussion Group at the Gay’s The Word Book Shop (WC1 N 1AB) has been going for over 30 years and is one of the most established community experiences in London. \nIt is open to all women who wish to either discuss\, listen to\, or bond over topics that deal with anything from Love\, Life and Dating to Politics\, Philosophies and Coming Out. \nThe group takes place every Wednesday from 8pm – 9pm inside the book shop itself. There is a steady stream of newcomers and everybody is more than welcome to also come along to our informal socials that tend to happen right after the discussion has taken place (we usually go to a bar or pub in the area). \nPlease arrive on time as we lock the door during the discussion group in order to avoid disruptions. Should you arrive after 8pm\, we would recommend that you go to one of the eateries or bars in the area and then meet us after 9pm once the shop’s door has been opened. Thank you for your understanding. \n  \nALL SESSIONS ARE NOW CONDUCTED ONLINE USING ZOOM. Find more information and the upcoming topics: https://www.lesbiandiscussiongroup.com/topics.html
