Lesbian Island is a community for queer women within South London that organises weekly events and community gatherings with a lot of glitter, and a lot of passion.

On 1 August, they are hosting their biggest event of the year, their Summer Party, and after their first ticket release sold out, they have upgraded to a bigger venue! It’s a hot sapphic night of tropical vibes for lesbians, trans and non-binary folk, as well as gays and allies who can come along as friends. The night will consist of live performers and go-go dancers, lesbian themed cocktails, afrobeats, salsa and reggaeton courtesy of DJ Zoé Fayaud and a photobooth to capture the memories.

Launched two years ago, Lesbian Island hosts events every week. Creator Anna Furnivall moved to London, previously working at Manchester’s iconic Gay Village, and found that despite the amount of lesbian and queer events, there was a lack of socialising that would happen at them. Lesbian Island was founded to create a united queer women’s community that hosted budget friendly events, perfect for Londoners’ tight purses.
