Get ready to be on your worst behaviour

Sapphics, do not panic: there’s going to be a heatwave this summer. Specifically on Friday, 21 August, in Victoria Park. Why? Because British singer-songwriter Kwn wants you all on your worst behaviour at All Points East.
East London’s favourite festival has just announced its final headline show, with co-headliners Jorja Smith and Tems taking over the iconic Victoria Park. Joining these powerhouses on stage will be everyone’s celebrity crush, Kwn.
After the release of Worst Behaviour with Kehlani last year, Kwn’s rise to the top has been unstoppable. Earlier this year, she was nominated for a Brit Award, and she’s been picking up accolades like Best New International Act at the BETAwards like there’s no tomorrow. Oh, and she’s pretty much cemented herself as a queer icon after hard-launching her relationship with Kehlani last year.
The lineup also includes firm LGBTQIA+ ally Ayra Starr, who made waves last year in her Nigerian fanbase when she embraced her queer fandom in Brazil. Her LGBTQIA+ fans even have their own fandom name, Sabigays. Speaking to The Standard last year, Ayra said: “My culture is very different, and they have a different mindset. I’ve always been a maverick, and I’ve always had a mind of my own to think how I want to think. I support who I want to support; nothing can change that.”
She continued: “Having LGBTQ+ kids in Nigeria send me messages saying I make them feel confident, I make them proud? It’s the best feeling in the world.”
All Points East is set to be a hub for LGBTQIA+ fans this year. Other headline shows will see acts like Lorde, Syd and PVRIS.
Tickets go on general sale on Friday, 13 March, 10 am, visit allpointseastfestival.com.
