Have you been looking for a queer comedy all about IVF? Well, you’re in luck. Emmalie El Fadli and Hansof Waller’s new project You And Me Makes Three ticks all the boxes. They just need the finishing funding to make this dream film a reality.

With executive producers Jen Brister, Saba Kia and Maisie Richardson-Sellers also on board, the film follows Alannah and Amara as they set out to start their family. You And Me Makes Three follows their chaotic journey to parenthood, exploring everything from fertility options to home insemination with all the humour, queer joy and emotion we’ve been craving.

At the heart of Emmalie El Fadli and Hansof Waller’s mission is to create joyful queer stories which don’t end in disaster. As their crowdfunding website reads: “Positive representation is huge for us, so we’ve ditched the tired tropes. Queer lives are full of love, laughter, and chaos, and that’s exactly what we want on screen!”

The project is currently looking to raise £5,000 for music licensing, remaining production, their poster, film festivals and DCP.

“As lesbians, we’re uniquely placed to tell this story, drawing on our own experiences and those of friends who’ve navigated the parenthood journey,” Emmalie El Fadli and Hansor Waller write. “We need more uplifting, funny films about queer families, ones that reflect the love and joy we know to be real. In a world where LGBTQIA+ rights face growing pushback, sharing stories of hope and happiness has never been more vital.”
