Miriam Margolyes has proved once again why she’s a national treasure after she revealed a rather risqué story on The Graham Norton Show.
As reported by The Independent, Miriam once got told off for running naked from a sauna and rolling around in the snow at a health farm. The lesbian actor and author said that she was reprimanded by the establishment’s director and was asked to never roll around naked in the snow again. Oh Miriam!
Joining the icon on the sofa were Glenn Close, Alexander Skarsgård and fierce LGBTQIA+ ally Nicola Coughlan. Miriam was there to discuss her new memoir, The Little Book Of Miriam, which features even more scandalous stories and colourful anecdotes from her life.
The star also shocked the entire sofa with another very raunchy tale about giving three men “assistance” one night in Edinburgh. We’ll leave your imagination to do the rest. Audiences were also left in stitches when Alexander Skarsgård revealed he had once looked to rent a room from Miriam and joked that he was worried that she fancied him. The befuddled Miriam replied: “Darling, I’m 84 and gay. I’ve been with my partner for 58 years.”
Fans of The Graham Norton Show have come to love Miriam and her stories which could fill a whole talk show on their own. In the past, her conversations on the show about LGBTQIA+ rights, her partner and pronouns have all gone viral.
Earlier this year, fans were elated to hear that she had decided to move in with her partner of nearly 60 years. Speaking to The Observer, she said: “The world around us has lost its charm. And we just want each other in a beautiful place which we know. We can toddle along and laugh and just quietly subside into old age. But together. We’re here for such a short time. It’s gone so fast. Mentally I’m still fairly crisp.”
