Christmas is around the corner and the nights are dark and cold. If, like me, you spend this time of year watching even more TV than usual, then you’re probably looking for recommendations on what to tune into next. Here’s what’s coming up to keep on your radar…

Oh. What. Fun.

Looking for some seasonal laughs? Watch Michelle Pfeiffer play underappreciated mum Claire, who burns herself out planning the perfect family Christmas. The cast includes out actor ChloĆ« Grace Moretz (The Miseducation Of Cameron Post) as Claire’s sapphic daughter, Danielle Brooks (Orange Is The New Black) and Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives).

Available to stream from 3 December on Prime Video

Dreamers

This moving film depicts a tenderly navigated and timely queer love story within a powerful immigration story. You can find out more about the film and read our exclusive interview with the writer-director and actors Ronkįŗ¹ AdĆ©kį»luẹ́ jį»Ģ and Ann Akinjirin below.

Coming to UK cinemas on 5 December

100 Nights Of Hero

Based on Isabel Greenberg’s graphic novel, this wonderfully feminist and queer independent film has a star-studded cast. Emma Corrin (My Policeman), Maika Monroe (Longlegs), Nicholas Galitzine (Red, White & Royal Blue), Richard E. Grant (Saltburn) and popstar and LGBTQIA+ ally Charli XCX all share a screen in this historical fantasy. It’s a flick that is delightfully horny, stylistically rich and full of heart and deadpan humour.

Coming to US cinemas on 5 December and UK cinemas in January

Tinsel Town

Australian actor, comedian, producer and queer icon Rebel Wilson is in a new Christmas film. The Sky Original film will see Rebel share a screen with Kiefer Sutherland. The film follows Bradley (Kiefer), a failed Hollywood star who ends up in a small snowy village to star in the town’s production of Cinderella. A quirky cast of oddballs – including no-nonsense choreographer Jill (Rebel) – soon work their way unexpectedly into his heart.

Coming to the US on 28 November, will be available to watch on Sky Cinema in the UK from 5 December

Emily In Paris: Season 5

While this show focuses on a very heterosexual love triangle (that is sometimes a square, or a shape with even more sides), there are several LGBTQIA+ characters in the cast. With that said, the show has received criticism for how it handled Camille’s bisexuality, and with the character not returning for this instalment, will they be able to redeem themselves?

Available to stream on Netflix from 18 December

Other December releases

Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft: Season 2 coming to Netflix on 11 December.

Fallout: Season 2. Coming to Prime Video on 17 December

Stranger Things: Season 5: Volume 2 (coming to Netflix on 25 December) with the finale coming on 31 December.

ICYMI, here are some more queer AF releases that came out in November.
