After nine seasons of chaos, Chrishell Stause is finally ready to leave Selling Sunset.

In an interview with Bustle, the star revealed that she was leaving the hit Netflix show to look after her mental health. “I’ve vacillated back and forth with this decision in the past. I have to be honest — having come from nothing, it’s really hard to turn something like this down,” she said. “I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially. I’m lucky to have other forms of employment, because it’s no longer good for my mental health.”

The latest season of the show has seen Chrishell have to navigate particularly tumultuous situations. There’s been friendship drama, heated arguments and Chrishell has had to call out transphobia.

While Chrishell admits the show wasn’t the best place for her, she told Bustle that she wishes the cast the best. “If they do do another one, by then, I may not watch it. I don’t know. But I have no ill will toward the show. The show has given me so many opportunities, and I don’t want to be bitter about it, even though I’m leaving not in the way that I would’ve loved.”

Although there will be many fans sad to see this queer icon leave the show, we cannot wait to see what the future holds for Chrishell and G Flip. The pair have been open about their journey with IVF, and have discussed potentially moving to Australia.

Chrishell spoke about her experience being the only openly queer member of the Selling Sunset cast. “I think people think they’re an ally, but they’re not realizing the lived experience of having lived half of my time at the brokerage being ‘straight’ and then living the other half really noticing the stark differences,” she said to Bustle.

“I think in this group, it took a while for them to take my relationship seriously.”

The icon is currently keeping her cards close to her chest when it comes to her next career move. When asked whether she would ever host The Ultimatum: Queer Love – which has recently been cancelled – she said: “I would love it if another streamer wanted to pick it up, and I would love to host it.”
