The Traitors has always been a beloved show by the queer community thanks to the heightened drama and the camp nature of host Claudia Winkleman, and the new celebrity version of the show is no different. The new first season of The Celebrity Traitors has featured many celebrities from the LGBTQIA+ community such as Clare Balding, Tom Daley, Alan Carr, Stephen Fry and lesbian icon Cat Burns.

Cat Burns is a lesbian singer-songwriter from South London who rose to fame after her song Go became popular on TikTok in 2022, and most recently she has graced our screens on Wednesdays and Thursdays in The Celebrity Traitors. Cat has been impressing viewers with her ability to be a successful traitor alongside Alan Carr and Jonathan Ross.

To celebrate Cat’s time on the show so far, here are some of her most iconic moments.

Throwing Jonathan Ross under the bus

Cat was more than ready to throw fellow traitor Jonathan Ross under the bus by theorising that he and Stephen Fry are possible traitors at the roundtable. She manages to go (mostly) under the radar while echoing the Faithfuls’ suspicion of Jonathan and Stephen. This pot stirring and strategic behaviour is exactly what makes her a brilliant traitor and incredibly exciting to watch.

Her outfits

Cat has given us many iconic outfits so far in The Celebrity Traitors, first appearing in a tartan jacket from Manchester brand Baracuta paired with a shirt and tie. Throughout the show she has continued to deliver looks that have cemented her as a lesbian style icon by playing with elements of androgynous fashion.

Her Traitors TikToks

It’s not an official moment during the show, but Cat’s TikTok presence surrounding The Celebrity Traitors has been nothing short of incredible. Fans have been obsessed with her and fellow traitor Alan Carr joining in on the viral “What’s Up/ Beez in the Trap” trend adorned in their Traitor cloaks, perfectly summarising the pair’s contrasting yet iconic personalities that have been a joy to watch on screen.

Her openness about her neurodivergence

Cat has always been open about her neurodivergence after being diagnosed with ADHD in 2021 and ASD in 2023. In the first episode of The Celebrity Traitors, Cat points out to Claudia Winkleman that she believes her neurodivergence could potentially aid her throughout her experience on the show due to the way she thinks and reacts to situations. This candidness is incredibly refreshing to see at a time when diagnoses are much less accessible for women, and particularly Black women as Cat pointed out in an interview with BBC Newsbeat.

Viewers are eager to see how Cat continues to keep her identity as a traitor undetected by the Faithfuls. You can watch The Celebrity Traitors on BBC One at 9 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
