Have you been missing Pitch Perfect? Well, you’re in luck because Rebel Wilson is in production on a new music comedy film that is sure to give you the same energy.

Entitled Girl Group, this new film sees Rebel play a pop diva who has been kicked out of her own girl group’s reunion tour. On top of that, she’s been given a sentence of court-ordered community service. But what happens when this popstar decides to make her own comeback by coaching a group of misfit teen girls? Expect to see hilarious moments, deep dives into fame and some classic Rebel Wilson fun.

Alongside cast members like Randall Park, Jamie Lee O’Donnell and even Mel C from the Spice Girls, this new film has conducted a nationwide search across the US to find the young leads who will be starring as Rebel’s new girl group.

Speaking about the film, Rebel said: “Ever since being a part of the Pitch Perfect franchise, I’ve always wanted to create something similar. Girl Group is just so fun and full of spirit that’s ready to have you singing and dancing out of the cinema.”

Yep, it’s safe to say that we can’t wait for this one.

Rebel and Anna Camp had fans going wild earlier this year when they announced that “all the Bellas are gay now” from the Pitch Perfect franchise. Speaking more about the inclusive nature on set, Rebel said: “I remember on Pitch Perfect 2, a lot of us girls were having a chat in between takes about sexuality. It was such a kind, honest, open chat. It really meant a lot to me that day on set.”

If you can’t get enough of Rebel, you can see her in the new Christmas film Tinsel Town, set for release later this year.
