We’re holding space for the 94% podcast’s latest episode with GLAAD Award-nominated media queen Tracy E Gilchrist. The journalist skyrocketed into fame last year when her interview with Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande went viral online.

Now, The L Word’s Rachel Shelley and former international hockey and cricket player Nikki Symmons have chatted to Tracy about what it was like to join the queer zeitgeist. The episode also features conversations about how Tracy’s long-distance cycling has impacted her work ethic and how sport was a refuge growing up in a violent household.

Chatting to Rachel and Nikki, Tracy said: “I got so much love from queer people – there was something about it that resonated with the right audience. And so those people who thought it was weird, or didn’t get it, or the three of us were crazy – I’m a sensitive person – I don’t care about them. I do not care. I got so much love from the community.”

She added that people had told her, “Just own it. This is a culmination of your career and all the work you put in. If you hadn’t done all this work you wouldn’t have that rapport with Cynthia. Ariana would not have felt safe with you. But I do not care about the haters. That’s the most beautiful part. It’s not for them. Not everything is for you.”
