After releasing her lesbian country-pop anthem The Giver on 13 March, the singer-songwriter teased her long-awaited upcoming new single to her fans in July.
Roan was spotted filming a music video earlier this month on a New York City balcony, which the fans speculated that it might be the music video of her song The Subway. The track is a highly anticipated song Roan performed on her live shows, which fans have been desperate to hear a studio version of.
Later, fans noticed posters around NYC with the singer’s face on them, which Roan’s creative director and long-time friend Ramisha Sattar posted on her Instagram. One poster had a tag on the singer’s hair that read “Best before August 1st”, which made fans speculate that the new single is going to come out on the same date.
While the speculations around the upcoming single were going around, a clip surfaced on the internet in which a snippet of The Subway was playing in the background while Roan was driving a moving truck. The truck had the license plate that read “THE SBWY” as her red hair flowed in the wind, heading to Saskatchewan.
Right now, a preview of the song is available on YouTube, with the official single cover that shows a picture of wigs stacked on each other.
While the whole conversation around the upcoming single is going on, the Good Luck, Babe singer announced the dates of her upcoming Pop-Up Shows in New York, Kansas City, and Los Angeles for this fall.
