You can still wave your rainbow flag high after June is over!

June might be over, but LGBTQIA+ people across the UK are not done celebrating Pride and spreading joy. Here are some upcoming events in the UK that you can attend to celebrate your identity or be an ally to the people in your life.

London Trans+ Pride (26 July) 

London Trans+ Pride is the world’s largest annual event in support of trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming and intersex people. It started in 2019 as a response to rising transphobia within other Pride events. This year the event will take place on 26 of July at 1 pm in Langham Place. Attendees are strongly encouraged to wear masks while attending the event.

Brighton Pride  (2–3 August) 

This year’s Brighton Pride consists of Pride on the Park, Pride Street Party and the infamous parade.  Pride on the Park will take place in Preston Park at 1 pm throughout the weekend. Artists who are going to perform on Saturday include Mariah Carey, Ashnikko, Slayyyter and more. Artists who are going to perform on Sunday are Sugababes, Will Young, Andy Bell and more. Pride Street Party will take place in Marine Parade all through Saturday and Sunday with special guests Danny Beard, Jaguar, Tayce and Mary Mac. This year’s parade will be held on 2 August with the theme “Ravishing Rage”. 

Trans Pride Manchester (2 August) 

This special event was founded in 2021 by a group of transgender and non-binary people who wanted to celebrate their identities and fight for their rights, with the mission to advocate for other transgender and non-binary people in the Greater Manchester area. The event will start at The Proud Place at 12 pm on Saturday, 2 August. It is recommended that attendees start arriving around 11 am.

Bute Pride (8–10 August) 

This year’s Bute Pride will kick off with a cinema show on 8 August at 4 pm. From 6 pm to 10 pm, there will be a Pre-Pride Hangout. On 9 August, the Community Parade will take place, which begins at 1:30 pm. Between 2 pm to 6 pm, there will be an event at Bute Yard. After that, the attendees who are over the age of 18 can continue the evening at Barbara La Bush at 7 pm with an after party at The Islander at 9 pm. The 10 August events include Be Proud Brunch at Ambience from 1 pm to 4 pm and Hangover Hangout at The Galatea starting at 3 pm.

Stafford Pride (9 August)

This event is described as an annual celebration of love, diversity and equality in the LGBTQIA+ community. People from the community gather to spread love and acceptance in Stafford. This year’s event will take place in Victoria Park on 9 August, from 12:00 pm – 10 pm. The tickets vary from £4.00 for ages five to 16, £8.00 for people over 16, and £30.00 VIP tickets which are only available for people over 18. The event will feature live music, food and drink stalls, and more. 

UK Black Pride (10 August) 

Started in 2005 with the intention to uplift Black queer voices, UK Black Pride is now bringing people from different backgrounds together to celebrate diverse sexualities, gender identities, gender expressions, and queer cultures. The event will take place in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London on Sunday 10 August from 12 pm – 9 pm. Line-up performances include Nqobilé, Issac, The Cleopatra Way and will be headlined by Durand Bernarr. With DJ sets from Timon, Big John the DJ and Kaspa, the day is one you don’t want to miss. 

Reading Pride (30 August) 

With the intention to bring the spirit of Pride to the centre of Reading and provide a community for LGBTQIA+ folks, this year’s festival takes place at King’s Meadow on Saturday 30 August, with the Parade starting at 12:00 pm. The event will include a line-up of stage entertainment, a funfair, and market stalls. Pride of Reading Awards 2024 describes the event as “community event of the year”.

Great Yarmouth & Waveney Pride (6 September)

This event is described as a vital support system, rooted in the principle of uplifting LGBTQIA+ voices. The event is thrown with the intention of raising awareness and empowering LGBTQIA+ people. This year’s event will take place on Saturday 6 September at The Drill House in York Road. The tickets are £2.50 with a £0.50 fee. The event will start at 12:00 pm.
