Have you ever thought about saying “I do” at a concert? Well, now you can, because singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus is going to officiate weddings at her Forever Is A Feeling US tour.

With Donald Trump’s second term as the president of the United States, LGBTQIA+ people across the US live with the worry that equal marriage rights might get taken away from them. Those risks gave Dacus an idea, as she shared with her fans on social media, explaining how she wants to make marriage available for queer couples.

The Best Guess singer stated: “I asked last week if people would be interested if I figured out how to officiate weddings from the stage and many people said yes, so we made a Google form to sign up it’ll be in my bio. I’m officiated in the US, only a few cities on this tour may not be possible, all the info is at the website, including how to get your marriage license by state. (Seems like it will be pretty easy, you’ll just need to bring your marriage license to the box office and we’ll return it by the end of the show.)”

She continued: “I can think of all sorts of reasons people may be interested in securing the rights granted through marriage (you know what I mean?), so if you’ve had it in mind forever or are just recently making the decision, I will be honored to do the honors!”

The link in her bio reads: “Each state has its own requirements like waiting periods, documentation, and fees. Be sure to follow all instructions carefully, as it is your responsibility to ensure your license is valid.”

Dacus will start officiating weddings on 25 July during her Philadelphia show, and will carry on until 27 September in Columbia. She also added that she may not be able to officiate in a few cities on this tour and stated that some cities may include “few local restrictions and extra steps”.

The Night Shift singer is on the list of queer artists who help other queer people tie the knot, along with Lady Gaga, Queen Latifah and Kesha.
