National charity LGBT Foundation have launched its powerful new campaign This Is What A Woman Looks Like to celebrate the beauty and diversity of womanhood.
This new campaign fights back against the increasingly hostile conversations about womanhood which have erupted after the UK Supreme Court’s ruling on the term “woman” earlier this year. LGBT Foundation is showing the joy that comes with diversity. The campaign features women who are often left out of the conversation, like trans women, lesbians, bisexual women, women of colour, disabled women and older women.
Laura Wilkinson (she/her), Co-Managing Director of LGBT Foundation, said: “The question of what defines a woman is complex, and it’s crucial to recognise the diverse experiences of being a woman.”

Rachel Bottomley (she/her), Co-Managing Director of LGBT Foundation, added: “While we anticipate strong emotional responses to this campaign, our aim is for people to feel empowered, represented, and understood, united in the understanding that everyone’s identity and experience is valid. By showcasing the full spectrum of women’s lived realities, the campaign aims to shift perceptions and challenge exclusion, offering much-needed space and visibility for all women. As LGBT Foundation marks its 50th anniversary in 2025, the campaign is a timely reflection on how the charity has evolved to meet the needs of LGBTQ+ communities, and the continuing fight for safety, equality and liberation.”
The campaign will run on digital screens across the UK due to the campaign’s partnership with the JCDecaux Community Channel – an initiative that enables not-for-profit community and charitable organisations to access digital Out-of-Home locations.
Alongside this campaign, LGBT Foundation will be releasing free resources about LGBTQIA+ allyship and assets that people can share to champion inclusivity.
