It’s officially six weeks until we get to sing our hearts out with the diva herself Mariah Carey. Yes, that’s right – Brighton & Hove Pride is nearly here. One of the crown jewels in the Pride season, Brighton & Hove Pride is ready to bring us yet another spectacular weekend of fun, protest and representation. Here are some of the key things you should know about this year’s celebration.
When is Brighton & Hove Pride?
2–3 August.
When is the Pride Community Parade?
This year’s Parade will take place on 2 August. Like previous years, attendees can view the Parade all the way from the beachfront to Preston Park. This year’s theme is “Ravishing Rage”, creating the perfect environment for you to protest, march and dance for LGBTQIA+ rights.
What is the Pride Street Party?
The Pride Street Party will take place on 2 and 3 August on Marine Parade. There will be multiple stages and areas, including spaces for daytime clubbing and drag stages. This year, Brighton Pride will also introduce a Street Party Stage in partnership with local cabaret venues. Star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and Celebrity Big Brother, Danny Beard, will perform. The line-up also includes 1980s icon Sonia, Tayce and more.
Who is performing at Pride In The Park?
The real question is who isn’t?! This year’s Pride In The Park will see acts like Mariah Carey, Ashnikko, Fat Boy Slim, Loreen, Sugababes, Romy, Katy B and more take to the iconic stage. There will be over 150+ artists performing over the two days, so there’s lots of incredible talent to catch. You can get your tickets here.
What else is happening for Pride?
There are also a number of supporting events happening in Brighton alongside the main events. On 1 August, there is the official warm-up pre-Pride party at Ironworks Studio. There are also a number of other events like Pride at the Royal Pavillion (31 July) and Rainbow Run @ Hove Park (1 August).
What is United In Pride?
