We love watching these women be obsessed with each other

There are a lot of TV shows out there about the relationships between women. A lot of them present us with a version of womanhood that is clean, stable and strong, which we love seeing. But sometimes, we just want to see what happens when the bond between women is intense, messy and fuelled by a powerful obsession.
With that in mind, here are some of our favourite TV shows featuring sapphic obsession…
Killing Eve
What happens when you cross a female assassin-obsessed MI6 agent with a psychopathic female assassin? An incredible, dark and twisty story of two women who can’t stop thinking about each other, that’s what!
Sandra Oh plays Eve Polastri, an intelligence officer for the Brits, who is trying to find out who is behind a series of contract killings and is obsessed with female murderers. Jodie Comer plays Villanelle, the assassin Eve is looking for, who soon becomes equally obsessed with the woman tracking her. As the two become more and more attracted to each other, one question echoes through the series: will anyone make it out alive?
Sirens
Netflix’s latest show is set to arrive on 22 May and brings a whole lot of obsessive women with it. Milly Alcock plays Simone, whose relationship with her boss Michaela, played by Julianne Moore, borders on a cult-like worship. Meghann Fahy plays Devon, Simone’s sister, who is desperate to sever the ties between the two women.
Via the trailer, we can see that the extent to which all these women are obsessed with each other feels more than a little sapphic. Needless to say, we’re getting a little obsessed ourselves while we wait for the show to come out.
Agatha All Along
Imagine being so obsessed with your ex that centuries after the break-up, you still can’t decide if you want them back or want them dead. Throughout the series, we watch as Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness and Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal travel down the witch’s road, coming across puzzles and tests on the way. As they circle each other, they try to decide if what they’re feeling is hatred or love.
This show was the first of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to feature a sapphic kiss so not only are Agatha and Rio obsessed with each other, but we’re obsessed with them.
Dracula
Vampire media tends to focus on the obsessive relationship between a vamp and his victim/muse. Lestat is obsessed with Claudia, Edward is obsessed with Bella and Dracula is obsessed with Mina.
But, in this 2013 show, there is another who loves Mina. Her best friend and rich society girl, Lucy, played by Katie McGrath. Lucy will do anything to be with Mina. Would she even become a vampire?
Yellowjackets
Have you ever been so obsessed with another girl that you talk to her corpse, see her ghost everywhere and eat her ear? Shauna Shipman has! It was not a surprise to us when Shauna turned out to be sapphic, because even before the Yellowjackets crash-landed in the wilderness, she seemed totally entranced by her best friend, Jackie.
