Every May, the biggest stars of the Western world gather at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute for the most prestigious night in fashion – the Met Gala. The event marks the opening of Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, an exhibition exploring Black men’s fashion, the first Met exhibit to place Black style at its centre.
The dress code was Tailored For You, nodding to Superfine’s focus on suits. As always, queer celebs took the red carpet by force. Here are a few of our favourite looks.
Doechii
This was the rapper’s first Met Gala and she came repping Louis Vuitton.
Cynthia Erivo
The Wicked star came out in black and red Givenchy.
Ayo Edebiri
Ayo’s Ferragamo outfit was inspired by her father’s Edo heritage.
Janelle Monáe
The non-binary star looked jaw-droppingly good in Thom Browne.
Colman Domingo
Dressed in Valentino, the actor looked gorgeous in blue.
Tessa Thompson
The actor’s suit dress looked amazing.
Hunter Schafer
The Euphoria star went for a black and white Prada suit.
Cardi B
Green velvet never looked so good!

We loved the colours on this one.
