“Met a lot of people in my life that are non-binary, and these beautiful non-binary people are who I feel the most like”

JoJo Siwa shared a deeply personal moment on last night’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother, opening up about how she sees herself when it comes to gender – and choosing not to be boxed in.
“I’ve met a lot of females, love them, don’t feel like I’m them. Met a lot of males, love them, don’t feel like I’m them – definitely not them,” she said in the diary room, reflecting alongside new-found friend Chris Hughes.
It wasn’t a dramatic reveal. Just JoJo, talking it through in real time. And that’s what made it hit differently.
“It’s important to be honest and also show that it’s OK to not know,” she added, giving voice to a space many people live in, but don’t often hear reflected back.
Siwa, now 21, has been in the public eye since childhood – known for big bows, glitter, and boundless energy. But over the past few years, she’s peeled back the layers. She came out as queer in 2021 and has since shared more openly about her evolving relationship with identity.
This conversation hinted at something deeper: that gender, for her, might not be a fixed box – but something more fluid, more personal.
“Met a lot of people in my life that are non-binary, and these beautiful non-binary people are who I feel the most like. It’s not something that I want to say about myself yet, but it’s something that is confusing,” she said.
While many fans were touched by her words, some felt the moment may have come too soon. “I can’t help but feel Big Brother forced her hand to share something she wasn’t ready to share, but gosh, her openness is a breath of fresh air,” one viewer posted online.
