Cinematik has announced that Love & Rage: Munroe Bergdorf, a powerful new documentary spotlighting one of the UK’s most influential trans voices, will hit UK cinemas for a limited two-day run on the 10 and 11 of June.
Directed by Olivia Cappuccini (Andy Murray: Resurfacing) and produced by the award-winning team at Misfits Entertainment (McQueen, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story), the film offers an intimate and unflinching portrait of activist, model, and author Munroe Bergdorf. Known for her trailblazing work in LGBTQIA rights and social justice, Bergdorf’s story unfolds in a deeply personal narrative that blends past and present with evocative visuals and a rich soundscape.
Love & Rage captures Bergdorf’s evolution from a media lightning rod to a woman reclaiming her voice amid adversity. From navigating a challenging upbringing and public controversies to embracing self-acceptance and chosen family, the film charts her journey with vulnerability, strength, and unrelenting hope.
The documentary features stylised sequences and candid reflections, revealing the emotional and political complexities of Bergdorf’s life. It’s not just a biography – it’s a call to action and a celebration of queer resilience.
Produced by BAFTA-nominated Andee Ryder and executive produced by Ian BonhĂ´te and Helen Parker, the film will be distributed by Cinematik in the UK and released globally via Universal Pictures Home Entertainment later this year.
With its urgent message and emotional depth, Love & Rage promises to be a defining moment in LGBTQIA cinema – spotlighting a singular figure whose life and work continue to inspire change.
