Sapphics, are you ready to add a new musical to your watchlist this year? Iman Qureshi’s musical comedy is getting ready for its run at Kiln Theatre between 13 June – 12 July following its sold-out run at Soho Theatre.

The Ministry Of Lesbian Affairs follows the story of the only lesbian choir in the country trying to win their place on the Pride mainstage. In a run-down church hall, the rag-tag choir navigates love, loss and the ultimate challenge: trying to agree on a song. Jam-packed with hilarious moments and lots of lesbian drama, the show promises audiences a gloriously sapphic time.

Kiln Theatre, Antic Productions and Damsel Productions have announced the full cast list for this splendidly sapphic show. With Hannah Hauer-King as director, Fanta Barrie (My Lade Jane) as Ellie, Olivier Award-winner Liz Carr as Fi, Leah Harvey (Sweetpea) as Lori and Georgie Henley (The Chronicles of Narnia) as Ana, the cast list is jam-packed full of talent. Other actors announced on the cast list include Zak Ghazi-Torbati (Hot Gay Time Machine) as Husband, Mariah Louca (Eastenders) as Bridget, Serena Manteghi (The Diplomat) as Dina and Shuna Snow (Big Mood) as Connie.

The creative team includes Anna Reid (Designer), Zoe Spurr (Lighting Designer), Nicola T Chang (Co Sound Designer, Composer & Co-Musical Director), Tingying Dong (Co-Sound Designer), Viki Calver  (Co-Musical Director), Stuart Burt CDA CSA (Casting Director), Yael Elisheva (Assistant Director), and  Danielle Levy (Costume Supervisor).

Writer Iman Qureshi commented on the launch of this new run at the Kiln Theatre: “Any one of these marvellous cast members would be a coup, but together our Ministry is an absolute tour de force. In this difficult political, cultural and economic environment for new writing, I am overjoyed that our much-loved, sell-out show is being revived at the Kiln Theatre, and I can’t wait for Kilburn High Road to transform into the unofficial lesbian stomping ground of summer 2025. Don’t sleep on tickets, they’re going fast!”

Director Hannah Hauer-King added: “I couldn’t be more excited to have such an incredible group of artists bringing this story back to life. It really is a dream cast, with new company members Liz Carr, Leah Harvey, Georgie Henley, Zak Ghazi-Torbati and Serena Manteghi bringing new energy to the show, Shuna Snow returning as much-loved Connie the choir director, Fanta Barrie returning as life of the party Ellie, and Mariah Louca as the irreplaceable Brig.”
