Londonās alternative queer scene is set to welcome an electrifying new event with the launch of the Dirty Dykes Film Club (DDFC) at the Rio Cinema in Dalston on 10 May. This first-of-its-kind film night, dedicated exclusively to lesbian and bisexual dykes, including transfemme and transmasc dykes, promises a night of provocative cinema, stimulating discussion and an all-night dance party.
With doors opening at 11 pm, attendees will be treated to an eclectic programme of eight short films in Screen One, while a feature-length film plays on a loop in Screen Two. The screenings will be followed by a Q&A with Berlin Porn Film Festival curator Manuela Kay, alongside filmmakers Max Disgrace and Estella Bathory.

The lineup includes:
Dori Dori (dir. Lydia Tsenta, Greece, 2024, 4 min)
Moments (dir. altSHIFT, Spain/UK/Netherlands, 2022, 10 min)
A Quick Fix (dir. Oran Julius, April Flores, Manon Praline, Germany, 2024, 7 min)
Pussy Love (dir. Linda Krauss, Germany, 2023, 4 min)
House of Whoreship (dir. Holly Laura Bates, Australia, 2022, 15:48 min)
Gooudo Auto (dir. Julie Folly, Switzerland, 2022, 10 min)
Stipulations (dir. Lir Locke, Germany, 2023, 5 min)
Uma Paciência Selvagem Me Trouxe Até Aqui (dir. Eri Sarmet, Brazil, 2021, 27 min)
Following the screenings, the celebration continues as DJ Rachel Potter will keep the crowd moving until 3 am. Attendees can also browse an array of stalls featuring everything from handmade fetish gear to rare LGBTQIA publications.
The DDFC is spearheaded by Karen Fisch (of the original Rebel Dykes), Kadett Hulsman (Beautiful and Damned Fetish Gear), and Leo from the Rio.
While this event is ticketed, the organisers have ensured accessibility, offering gender-neutral restrooms, step-free access to screenings, and companion tickets. In keeping with its radical ethos, the event operates under a NOTAFLOF policy ā ensuring no one is turned away for lack of funds.
For a night that promises to be as boundary-pushing as it is celebratory, the Dirty Dykes Film Club sets a new standard for queer erotic cinema in London.
