While the notoriously private Chappell Roan has often kept her dating life out of the public eye, on a new episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast The Giver artist revealed a very exciting piece of news – she’s off the market.

Speaking about her current dating life, Chappell said that she has actually been in a relationship for the last six months and she’s “very in love”. She added that the pair had met through a friend.

“I’m usually the one who makes – like in every circumstance – I make the first move,” Chappell told Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper. “I haven’t dated someone since this all really, really blew up. I’m dating the same person that I was dating before I blew up, so I’m not sure how I would date now.”

In the podcast episode Chappell also mentioned that while she is coupled up now, she is very “pro-single”. “Everyone should be single, I’m serious. Be single. Stop dating. Be single. Have a great time alone. Find out for yourself if you can one hundred percent be okay alone before you date,” she continued.

Chappell’s stratospheric rise to fame has come with its challenges. Her rapid rise to stardom led her to make a public announcement asking fans to respect her privacy. On this new podcast episode, Chappell revealed that some of these issues have also seeped into her approach to dating.

“I think I would be so single right now because you’re terrified of their intentions,” the star said. “I’m scared. I’m scared. I don’t trust anyone. I just think in my head, I’m like, any new person that I’m texting, I’m like, ‘I’m assuming they will screenshot this and send it to someone else.’”

Alongside talking about her new relationship, Chappell also spoke about the double standard she’s faced being an LGBTQIA star in the limelight. “People expect me to play by different rules because I’m gay and I should be more politically correct about that, and I should actually be way more knowledgeable about it,” Chappell said. “So I get asked a lot of fucking crazy questions that a lot of my peers would not get asked.”

Last year, Chappell came under fire for not endorsing Kamala Harris ahead of the US election.
