Founded in 1965 by lesbians in the Kensington and Richmond area, social group KENRIC are celebrating their 60th anniversary this year. To commemorate such an achievement, KENRIC are hosting a Memories Day on 15 March at the London Archive to reflect on the last six decades and look over the material the group has collected over the years.

KENRIC organises a variety of events for lesbians to socialise and meet, allowing all members to show up as their authentic self. The not-for-profit group has hosted both in person and online events in the past, hoping to bring together lesbians from all walks of life.

The inclusive space allows for all lesbians to come together, something which is needed now more than ever. KENRIC is also trans-inclusive, creating a space for trans women who identify as lesbian to find a community.

One member told DIVA: “I’ve had a very good social life … And the friends I’ve got now I met 35, 40 years ago, through Kenric.”

The Memories Day event will feature talks from people like Clare Summerskill, as well as contributions from other members.
