As filming gets underway for Scream 7, it has been revealed that a familiar face is returning to the horror franchise. Jasmin Savoy Brown has rejoined the cast as Mindy Meeks-Brown, the series’ first queer character.

Mindy first appeared in Scream (2022), alongside her twin brother Chad (Mason Gooding). Her uncle, Randy (Jamie Kennedy), was one of the original characters from the 1996 film. Like him, Mindy was an avid horror fan, targeted by Ghostface. Jasmin returned as the character in Scream VI, where it was revealed that Mindy had moved to New York City and was in a relationship with Anika Kayoko (Devyn Nekoda).

Scream 7 will be the third installment featuring Jasmin. Currently in production, it has also been revealed that Scream veterans Neve Campbell and Courtney Cox will also be returning as Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers respectively.

The film is due to reach cinemas in February 2026. The horror slasher franchise initially comprised four films made from 1996 to 2011. In 2022, the series was brought back and the latest film was released in 2023.

Jasmin, who recently launched a new queer podcast called Today In Gay, will also be seen in the third season of Yellowjackets this February.
