It’s fair to say that Reneé Rapp is more than a Gen Z celebrity. At this point, the beloved singer is an icon. From her hilarious unfiltered attitude on the Mean Girls press tour to going viral for sounding like a goose, she is everything and more!

Today (10 January), is the singer’s 25th birthday! To celebrate, here are our favourite Reneé Rapp moments.

Sounding like a goose in the Poison Poison outro

The Snow Hard Feelings tour was always going to be wild time, full of curveballs. But one not on our bingo card was probably Reneé going viral for sounding like a goose. Fan favourite Poison Poison ended with the audience screaming the lyrics, while Reneé casually said, “Huh?” That tiny word sounded suspiciously like the honk of a goose. Soon the internet was flooded with jokes and skits, in perhaps one of the funniest viral moments of 2024.

Being the little lesbian intern on SNL

SNL outdid themselves with this one! When Reneé and Jacob Elordi were guests on the show, they did a skit in which Jacob and SNL cast member Bowen Yang played lip-readers and Reneé played herself, their “little lesbian intern”

Not only was this hilarious, as Reneé directly referenced her unorthodox and unfiltered approach to the Mean Girls press tour, but it was the first time the singer publicly referred to herself as a lesbian. What a way to come out!

When she called out Buddy, the tour bus guy

Speaking of Mean Girls, one of the best moments from the press tour was the way Reneé went off on one about the owner of a tour bus company who was rude to her friends. The man, called Buddy, was “disrespectful” and “misogynistic” to her friends.

Her rant had her co-star, Christopher Briney, and most of the backstage crew in stitches. Speaking directly to him, Reneé said: “If you’re waiting this, I can’t stand you and I hope your business burns.”

When she shot her shot with Rachel McAdams

The new Regina George went on The Late Show during the Mean Girls press tour. Stephen Colbert asked her if she had any notes for Rachel McAdams, who originated the role back in 2004. Reneé had one answer: “Date me?”

When she sang Tummy Hurts with Towa Bird

This has got to be the best moment of the Snow Hard Feelings Tour. When Reneé and her girlfriend, Towa Bird, performed the song together, with Towa knelt at Reneé’s feet, their chemistry was electric!
