Chloe Petts is bringing her new show How You See Me How You Don’t to the Soho Theatre from 13 – 25 January.

The British stand up debuted her first full length show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2022, and since then has become a staple in the comedy scene. You may have caught her on shows like Have I Got News For You, Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club, and on Hannah Gadsby’s Netflix comedy special Gender Agenda.

This new show acts as a direct response to Chloe’s fixture on Sky Sports News, and the subsequent trolling that she faced. As an avid football fan – Crystal Palace of course – Chloe was elated when she was given the opportunity to feature on Sky Sports News. But she quickly realised that her appearance on the show was met with a huge amount of backlash about the way she looked.

“It was just sad because it should have been the biggest opportunity of my career and I really wanted to be enjoying it because I was getting to be around all these amazing, incredible, talented people,” Chloe tells DIVA exclusively. “But I was dreading it because I was just worried that stuff would get through to me.”

Despite the heavy topic at its centre, Chloe assures us that her new show How You See Me How You Don’t is still really funny. And we’re not surprised. After its first run at the Fringe in 2024, The Guardian described it as “a highly engaging, consistently intelligent” hour of comedy.

Alongside discussions about trolling, Chloe’s new show also digs into sports in general, gender, and her time at school. Despite the nature of the abuse she faced online after appearing on the show, Chloe hopes that her representation spoke to young queer football fans everywhere. “I just hope that there was someone like myself – a young girl – who might have seen me and realised that they can look like that and access football spaces.”

Chloe Petts her brand-new show, How You See Me, How You Don’t, nationwide as part of her third UK tour, kicking off with a two-week run at London’s Soho Theatre, Downstairs from 13 Monday  – 25 Saturday 25 January at 7.15p m and running till 9 Sunday March at Brighton Komedia. Chloe has also added an extra run at the Soho Theatre between 9-14 June. Full dates and tickets at chloepetts.org.
