The festive “burr basket” is a trend that has been popularised on TikTok where partners gift each other a basket of festive gifts to show their appreciation for one another. Here are 10 items we think belong in a “dykonic” version of the trend!

UNDERWEAR

Although new socks or underwear might’ve been the last thing you wanted to receive as a kid for Christmas, gifting your partner a nice pair of boxers or briefs is a surefire way to make them feel special.

Woxer is a queer, female, Latin-owned underwear brand that has made a name for itself creating a line of ultra-soft underthings for women and queer folk.

Matching underwear can also be a cute way to be playful and intimate with your partner. Oddballs has an offer where you can mix and match matching briefs and boxers, so both of a couple’s preferences can be met.

 KEYRINGS

Both practical and functional, keyrings are a convenient way to keep track of your keys whilst expressing a bit of personality.

Lego keyrings seem to be all the rage at the minute, with partners picking out complimentary charms to match each other.

CANDLES

Candles bring comfort and cosiness to any space and certainly make for an appreciated and versatile gift.

Delivering stunning eco-conscious candles and ceramics, the queer-founded brand Studio Limbo features a diverse array of scents and utilises refillable eco pots and sustainable wax.

SEX TOYS

Although perhaps unconventional, a sex toy can be a brilliant gift for a partner enhancing intimacy and variety in your sex life.

Wet For Her is a queer-owned brand designed specifically for lesbian and queer communities. They offer a wide variety of vibrators, straps, and gender-affirming gear.

PYJAMAS

Matching pyjamas creates a sense of intimacy and playfulness, offering a fun way to capture cosy moments together.

We’re particularly fond of the pyjama collection by Lucy & Yak, a British clothing brand committed to supporting the LGBTQIA community.

SNACKS AND DRINKS

Drinks and snacks are an easy, affordable way to flesh out a burr basket.

Although it’s sometimes a stereotype that lesbians love tea, I certainly fall into that category! Why not switch it up for the tea lover in your life with some new interesting flavours? Teapsy in particular has quite an eclectic range.

BATH PRODUCTS

What’s a better way to relax than a lovely bubble bath? Our shop of choice is the ever-creative Lush. Not only are they cruelty-free, but they are also eco-conscious, ethically sourced, and continually campaign about human rights issues.

A FRAMED PHOTO

A handmade photo frame can be a brilliant way to save money and show appreciation for your partner. Simply buy a photo frame, and decorate it with paint, glue, decals, or whatever your heart desires! Then fill it with your favourite photo of you and your partner.

FLOWERS

There are very few women who wouldn’t appreciate receiving a bouquet of flowers. A way to make this classic gift more personal is to gift them the flower of their birth month.

A STUFFED ANIMAL

Whether you’re an adult or a child, stuffed animals provide comfort, joy, and happiness.

Jellycats are particularly popular at the moment due to their exceptionally soft, high-quality materials, cute designs, and collectable nature.
