Grace Keeling – aka podcast superstar GK Barry – has delighted fans after sharing her coming out story on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
Joining a star-studded cast in the jungle, the beloved social media star spoke candidly about her footballer girlfriend Ella Rutherford to her campmates in a recent episode. Earlier this year Grace revealed that the pair were dating, and since then she has spoken openly about their relationship.
In a chat at camp with other contestants on the show, Grace spoke about the casual way she had come out to her parents.
“I’d mentioned, ‘Oh I’m just going to see my friend Ella’ or ‘I’m staying round Ella’s’ so they’d heard her name,” she explained. When her parents asked who Ella was, Grace simply replied: “Oh, she’s my girlfriend.”
“They just love her, never had an issue with it,” the Saving Grace creator continued. She carried on by saying that she never doubted that her parents would accept her identity.
“To be fair I feel like the closet may have been glass,” she joked. “They’ve always said whoever you end up with we do not care, boy or girl, we don’t care, as long as they’re not a d**k.”
Grace has quickly become a fan favourite on the show due to her meme-worthy reactions to trials and the critters that lurk on the jungle floor. We’re rooting for you Grace!
