Trans In The City presented Susie Green with the CEO’s award at their annual gala. The award recognises the immense impact Susie has had in making the world safer for trans and non-binary people.

Susie has dedicated two decades to fighting for trans rights. As the former CEO of Mermaids, a trans charity, she has taken the organisation from small grassroots projects to spearheading an international defence of the trans community. She continues to fight for the wellbeing of trans children through her work with Anne Health, with a focus on timely gender-affirming support for all ages.

Upon receiving the award, Susie said: “This is really special to me. I have worked so hard to protect my daughter, and then ongoing to protect other trans kids and over the last few years I’ve seen things going backwards. With the creation of Anne Health with Lizzie Jordan, we tried to do something that took things forward in the face of huge hostility and do you know something? We’re doing it! No matter what they throw at us, I won’t stop.”

For the last seven years, Trans In The City has hosted an awards gala to bring people and organisations together and celebrate Trans Awareness Week. The CEO’s award is its most prestigious recognition. Bobbi Pickard, CEO of Trans In The City, said: “This award acknowledges those who have not only championed the community but have also made extraordinary efforts, driving lasting change and creating inclusive spaces at an unparalleled level.”
