Asexual Awareness Week may nearly be over but that doesn’t mean we can’t listen to the absolute bops released by asexual musicians. From latin ballads to indie rock, let’s look at three ace artists to add to your playlist today!

Cavetown

This Cambridge-based singer-songwriter first started releasing music via their YouTube channel in November 2012. Three years later, at only 17 years-old, they released their debut self-titled album. Since then, the musician, who has said their on the asexual and aromantic spectrums, has released four more studio albums. As of this year, they have over 6.6 million monthly streamers on Spotify.

One of their early singles, Home, has become an asexual anthem, telling the story of someone who finds peace with never having a romantic or sexual relationship.

Kim Deal

The bassist of alternative rock band Pixies and frontwoman of The Breeders is a veritable rock legend. Their album Surfer Rosa was named Album of the Year by both Melody Maker and Sounds. As part of The Breeders, Kim made albums that have been beloved by not only fans but fellow rock musicians, such as Kurt Cobain, who said Pod was one of his favourite records.

In 2009, Kim did an interview in which she stated that she was “just so asexual” and didn’t understand why people were attracted to her, simply because she doesn’t know what attraction feels like.

Ana Gabriel

Possibly one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time, Ana has been dubbed the “Diva de América”. She’s performed a variety of different genres over her twenty studio albums and has a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. In 2015, she told the world she identifies as asexual
