Two years after the beloved supernatural drama ended, we take a look at where its stars are now

First Kill, a supernatural teen drama, quickly garnered a dedicated fanbase after its release on Netflix in 2022. Based on a short story by bestselling author V.E. Schwab, the series follows the forbidden romance between Juliette, a teenage vampire, and Calliope, a monster hunter from a family of slayers. Their star-crossed love story resonated with audiences, particularly due to its refreshing portrayal of LGBTQIA relationships at the forefront of a genre typically dominated by heteronormative narratives.
Though First Kill was short-lived, with only one season, its impact was significant. The show’s unique take on a vampire romance blended with high-stakes action and themes of identity, family loyalty, and self-acceptance made it stand out in a crowded streaming landscape.

Sarah Catherine Hook (Juliette Fairmont)
Born a vampire but determined not to be a monster, Juliette Fairmount captured audiences’ hearts when she fell head-over-heels for – you guessed it – a monster hunter named Calliope Burns. It was the Romeo & Juliet story the sapphic community needed.
Since playing Juliette, Sarah Catherine Hook has been gearing up for a number of TV shows and films which will be released in the new year. Some to look out for include The Ghost Trap which comes out in November, and an exciting new TV series entitled Cruel Intentions.
Imani Lewis (Calliope Burns)
Fearless and headstrong, Calliope Burns burst onto our screens as a Monster Hunter in training who is desperate to make her family proud. Imani Lewis has since gone on to star in films like the thriller Among The Beasts and the comedy Miguel Wants To Fight.
Elizabeth Mitchell (Margot Fairmont)
As the matriarch of the Fairmont family, Margot Fairmont was a stickler for vampire rules but still tried to maintain a balanced and supportive role for her daughter Juliette. Elizabeth Mitchell has an impressive career that even includes some queer fan favourites like the 1998 film Gia. Since starring in First Kill, Elizabeth has taken roles in Outer Banks and The Santa Clauses.
Aubin Wise (Talia Burns)
Talia, Calliope’s mother, was an experienced Monster Hunter who prided herself on being no-nonsense. Although feisty, she definitely had a soft spot for her children which fans loved to see. Since starring in the show, Aubin Wise has dedicated herself to being a mother and regularly posts videos of her singing on her Instagram.
Gracie Dzienny (Elinor Fairmont)
Power-hungry Elinor Fairmont loved to use her charisma and charm to get what she wanted, even if that meant fooling her parents into turning against her brother. Playing the role of this manipulative sister, Gracie Dzienny has since starred in the beloved LGBTQIA show The Secret Lives Of College Girls as Tatum – Leighton’s ex-girlfriend.
MK xyz (Tess Franklin)
Starring as Cal’s best friend Tess, MK xyz is a queer singer who has released bops like No Boys Allowed. The star has 367k followers on Instagram where she posts her latest music and projects.
