Pride In Education has announced that its eighth conference will be taking place through a series of free online webinars for the autumn term. Partnering with Pearson UK and leading experts, these webinars will help to provide schools with training and information about how to improve LGBTQIA inclusion in education settings.

These webinars will highlight the importance of promoting diversity and inclusion within schools in order to make sure that every student feels safe, valued, and equipped to succeed.

Laïla El-Metoui, Founder of Pride in Education, said: “This series is not merely about training; it represents a movement towards meaningful change in education. Our goal is to transform schools from safe spaces into actively inclusive environments where LGBTIQA students can truly flourish.”

The webinars will cover:

  • Empowering LGBTIQA Students for Success: Strategies for preparing LGBTIQA students for higher education and careers, in collaboration with Blossom LGBT. Timed to align with National Coming Out Day, this session offers guidance for supporting Trans, Non-Binary, and Queer (TNBQ) students.
  • Supporting TNBQ Students in Secondary Schools: Co-hosted with Gendered Intelligence during Trans Awareness Week, this session will focus on integrating TNBQ topics into the curriculum and supporting TNBQ students.
  • LGBTIQA Sex Education in Secondary Schools: Scheduled for 1 November 2024 with the LGBT Foundation.
  • Embracing Ace Identities in Education: Insights into supporting ace identities in secondary and further education, presented by Sarah Cosgriff on 29 November 2024.
